Due to the Government Shutdown, our speaker Michelle Hernandez (Miami Director of the OFCCP) will be unable to attend our event. As a result, we are canceling the event for tomorrow and will determine next steps with regard to programming. Registration fees for those who registered and paid, will be reimbursed promptly through paypal. We hope this does not cause you any inconvenience.
With the OFCCP’s current focus on outreach to individuals with disabilities, our Disability Outreach Symposium is one you will not want to miss. First, we will present Michelle Hernandez, Miami Director of the OFCCP, to speak on the latest developments at the OFCCP, including the agency’s enforcement of Section 503 regulations. In addition, this program will bring together representatives of a number of South Florida disability-related organizations (e.g., Goodwill Industries, the Dan Marino Foundation, the Ernie Eles Foundation, the local Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program representative) with the goal of creating a forum in which our federal contractors can connect with these organizations seeking employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Participating organizations will speak to the attendees and substantial time will be set aside for one-on-one networking with such representatives. This program will not only serve as a form of outreach under Section 503, but will develop your outreach and recruitment network to facilitate future outreach and successful placement of individuals with disabilities. We hope to see you there!
